Our psychologists and counsellor are able to provide EAP sessions through Clearhead. These sessions can be booked through the Clearhead website, with each inidividual clinician having their own personal profile.

Our counsellor, Rachel, is available for EAP sessions through Benestar.

For those who meet the criteria, we are able to support our clients in making an application to Work and Income for a Disability Allowance to supplement the cost of sessions.

  • Due to the current high demand for psychological services, Practice 371 requires 48 hours notice for cancellation of appointments. Fees apply to late cancellations and missed appointments. Telehealth appointments will be cancelled and charged at the full rate if they are not attended within the first 20 minutes. Late fees give recognition to the time clinicians have put aside to prepare for and attend the appointment. They also recognise clients on a waitlist, who have insufficient time to attend a short-notice appointment. Cancellation timeframes exclude weekend days.

Less than 48 hours notice - 50% of the cost of consultation

Less than 24 hours notice and missed appointments - Full cost of consultation

  • All therapy begins with an initial assessment (up to 90-minutes). This is an opportunity for you and your psychologist to explore and begin to develop an understanding of your current challenges, background, and wider context, and to decide together if there is a good fit for therapy.

At the end of your appointment, you and your psychologist will discuss your treatment plan, which will include your goals and focus, the treatment approaches that will be used, and other health professionals that may need to be involved.

For many of our clients, the inclusion and participation of their whānau or support people in assessment or treatment may be helpful. This will be discussed with your psychologist.

  • At Practice 371 we like to take an interdisciplinary approach to treatment, which means health professionals from different disciplines, along with the client, working collaboratively as a team.

Our team are connected with specialist eating disorder dietitians and psychiatrists and can facilitate a referral and ongoing collaboration when necessary.

If clinically indicated, a letter will be sent to your GP at the outset and completion of therapy. Your psychologist may also liaise as appropriate throughout the course of therapy. Practice 371 does not offer medical services so it is important that any medical concerns, including review of medications, are addressed by your doctor. There will be no letter writing fee for the initial engagement and discharge letters. Additional letters will incur the standard letter writing and liaison fee.

  • At Practice 371 the health and wellbeing of our clients is central. We follow Ministry of Health operating guidelines and all our staff are fully vaccinated. As COVID presents an evolving situation, we will be reviewing our policy frequently. How we provide therapy may change and we ask that you please check back for further updates. • There are no mask wearing requirements when attending your appointment.

    • If you would prefer that masks are worn during your session, please request this at the outset of your session or email ahead so your therapist can ensure they are wearing a mask upon your arrival.
